Vintage 1972 Bill Blass evening dress with a soft camel wool knit bodice and full ivory satin skirt. Satin collar, turned back satin cuffs and a beautifully gathered skirt with a structured, substantial drape. Finished with side pockets and a center back zipper closure. The satin skirt is lined, giving it fullness and shape. An example of this design, dated 1972, is held in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. Good vintage condition with a marking at the hemline and small light mark at satin cuff. Presents beautifully as is. (Last photo is Smithsonian example.) Marked size 8. Fits approximately like a modern day Large but please refer to measurements for best fit.
